Memoir of Poe, engineering officer, entitled "Personal Recollections of the Occupation of East Tennessee and Defense of Knoxville." Poe describes the occupation of Knoxville, Tenn., by Union forces, 1863, and their subsequent defense of the town against Confederate troops under General James Longstreet, particularly detailing the work of Union engineers in preparing fortifications.
